To properly install an ER collet in the chuck you should:
- Insert the collet at an angle into the nut.
- Hook the collet slot onto the eccentric or cylindrical protrusion of the nut (fig. A).
- Press the collet into the nut (fig. B).
- Screw the nut with the pressed-in collet onto the chuck so that the tool can be properly clamped.
