To properly install the ER collet in the chuck, you should:
- Insert the collet at an angle into the nut
- Hook the collet groove onto the eccentric or cylindrical protrusion of the nut (fig. A)
- Press the collet into the nut (fig. B)
- Screw the nut with the pressed collet onto the chuck so that the tool to be machined can be clamped
