To properly mount the ER collet in the chuck, you should:
- Insert the collet at an angle into the nut
- Engage the collet groove with the eccentric or cylindrical protrusion of the nut (fig. A)
- Press the collet into the nut (fig. B)
- Screw the nut with the pressed collet to the chuck so that it is possible to secure the tool being machined
