- Collets fit ER40 collet chucks.
- ER40 nuts are used for wedging and clamping the collet.
- Slots allow the collet to spring.

To properly mount the ER collet in the chuck:
- Insert the collet angled into the nut
- Engage the collet slot with the eccentric or cylindrical protrusion of the nut (Fig. A)
- Press the collet into the nut (Fig. B)
- Screw the nut with the pressed collet onto the chuck so that the tool can be clamped
